What is Maizen?

Maizen is an animated Minecraft channel following brothers JJ and Mikey through formulaic adventure plots. It is enormously popular with kids under ten and publishes on a near-daily schedule.

Is Maizen appropriate for kids?

The original channel is clean: no profanity, cartoon peril only. The bigger issue parents hit is the imitation ecosystem, since dozens of copycat channels reuse the JJ and Mikey characters with cruder humor, creepier themes and worse moderation, and kids cannot tell them apart. Blocking often needs to cover the imitators, not just the original.

Whether that fits your child is your call. If you decide to block the channel, here is how.

Block Maizen with Vidward

  1. 1
Create your free Vidward account. The trial runs 7 days with no credit card.
  2. 2
Add your child in the dashboard and link their computer by typing the one-time code into the Vidward extension in their browser.
  3. 3
Open your child's Filters tab, search for Maizen and block the channel.
  4. 4
Done. Maizen disappears from search, the home feed, recommendations and direct links in their browser, and every change you make syncs to their device.

Does YouTube have a built-in way to block a channel?

Not really. YouTube's "Don't recommend channel" option only trims the home feed. Maizen still shows up in search results, in Shorts and through direct links, and your child can undo the setting in two clicks. Restricted Mode filters some mature content but cannot target a specific channel. That gap is exactly what Vidward covers.
