Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about setting up and using Vidward.

What is Vidward?

Vidward is a Chrome extension and parent dashboard that lets you control what your kids see on YouTube — block channels, videos and keywords, switch off Shorts, Movies and autoplay, and review watch history, all from one place.

How do I set it up?

Add the Vidward extension to Chrome on your child’s computer, create a parent account, and link the device with a short activation code. Most families are set up in about two minutes.

Which browsers does it support?

Vidward runs on Google Chrome on desktop. You manage everything from the web dashboard on any device, and your rules sync to your child’s browser automatically.

What’s included in the free trial?

The Free plan is a 7-day trial with no credit card required: one active browser, up to five blocked channels, channel and video blocking, and watch history. Upgrade anytime to unlock unlimited browsers and channels, the Shorts blocker and time schedules.

Can I manage more than one child?

Yes. Create a separate profile for each child with its own rules and linked devices, and switch between them in the dashboard.

Will my child know Vidward is installed?

Vidward enforces your rules quietly in the background — blocked content simply doesn’t appear, and there’s no separate app for your child to open or dismiss.

How do I change plans or cancel?

You can change or cancel your plan anytime from your account. Paid plans stay active until the end of the current billing period.
