Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about setting up and using Vidward.
What is Vidward?
Vidward is a browser extension with a parent dashboard. You block channels, videos and keywords, switch off Shorts, Movies and autoplay, and review watch history. The rules apply in your child's browser automatically.
How do I set it up?
Add the Vidward extension to your child’s browser, create a parent account, and link the device with a short activation code. Most families are set up in about two minutes.
Which browsers does it support?
Vidward supports Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Brave and other Chromium-based browsers. You manage everything from the web dashboard on any device, and your rules sync to your child’s browser automatically.
What’s included in the free trial?
Everything. The trial is the full product for 7 days with no credit card required. Unlimited children and browsers, channel and keyword blocking, the Shorts blocker and watch history. The clock starts when you link your first device, not when you sign up.
Can I manage more than one child?
Yes. Create a separate profile for each child with its own rules and linked devices, and switch between them in the dashboard.
Will my child know Vidward is installed?
Vidward enforces your rules quietly in the background. Blocked content simply doesn’t appear, and there’s no separate app for your child to open or dismiss.
Can't my kid just disable or uninstall the extension?
Not if you run the tamper-proof setup. It uses Chrome's own administrator policies, so the extension shows as “Installed by your administrator” with no disable or remove option, and Incognito, Guest mode and new profiles are switched off too. It takes a couple of minutes on your child's computer.
How do I change plans or cancel?
You can change or cancel your plan anytime from your account. Paid plans stay active until the end of the current billing period.
